Today would have been my old Mum's birthday.
5th October 2008

She would have been 84.
Today is a special day to remember her.
This lovely photo of the plaque was take by my dear sister-in law
just after it was recently positioned at the grave site.
Thank you Eve

Daphne adored plants!
(I have inherited this gene!)
One of her favourite plants to cultivate were Cymbidium Orchids
similar to this lovely specimen
for more information on these and other orchids visit this site

Daphne showing her orchids to her twin sister Dorothy who visited her in Australia in 1988
Dorothy passed away recently on the 30th August not quite reaching her 84th birthday either. Dorothy lived in the USA for 60 years.

Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

(((Carol))) You honor her by continuing with her love of plants.

Daphne was always one of my favorite names. It's feminine without being cutesy.
